"At 60, I have no chance of finding work again": when Intermarché sells off its employees

In April, Intermarché announced the closure of 28 stores it had acquired from Casino. This included the La Riche hypermarket, on the outskirts of Tours, and its 54 employees. On Wednesday, July 9, they gathered to protest the unsatisfactory severance conditions.

This is the welcome given by the employees of the Intermarché Hypermarket in La Riche (Indre-et-Loire) to their management on Wednesday, July 9. Like 27 other Casinos taken over by Intermarché , the store in which these 54 employees worked has closed, only eighteen months after its acquisition .
A so-called job protection plan (PSE) is currently being negotiated for this team, which has been on paid layoffs since April 28. "We want to make it clear to them that we are ready to fight," insists Christèle Poyant, a member of the CSE (Works Council) of this hypermarket...
